NASA Space Shuttle Helmet Aviation Similar lot made for Bob Gray, the back-up aerial chase television person who was on standby (STS 01, 3-5) to provide TV coverage during launch and landing. He was positioned at El Paso, TX. rather than at JSC, Houston and was the primary TV person during STS 02 flight that landed at Edwards. He is deceased. Included are his sky blue helmet made to NASA specs by Protection, Inc. of El Cajon, CA., his helmet cover, skull cap, flight gloves and padded helmet carry bag (with his name tag sewed on). This helmet differs from the Slezak helmet offered elsewhere in the sale in that the visor is a darker shade of blue (not gray) than the color of the helmet itself and Gray does not have his name on the visor. Pristine condition and extremely rare. A "Williamson" certificate of authenticity is included.
