Decoration: Six piece assembled set William Wise, retailer for Gorham , teapot, coffee pot large water jug ,creamer & sugar ( with handles ) , one service piece. marked Kirkpatrick Co. ,also a retailer for Gorham has no handle .The Teapot is not monogrammed ,the water jug has ornate scripted AML on front, creamer & sugar have matching ornate inscriptions RM,The coffee pot has MR on front , The Kirkpatrick service piece. is monogrammed with KJG.

History: Stamped with retailers name William Wise who was a jeweler in Brooklyn NY 1897 - his Company was well known for retailing jewelry ,clocks, sterling ,silver items ,flatware & hollowware for such manufacturer's as Gorham manufacturing co. Gorham was founded by Jabez Gorham in 1831 , who established himself as a leading manufacturer of silverware in Providence RI. , John Gorham ,son of Jabez became a partner in his fathers business which became Gorham & Sons. John took over his fathers interest in 1847, in the 1950"s John recruited more then one hundred skilled craftsmen from overseas. In 1863 The Gorham company became the largest manufacturer of coin silverware. Gorham's entrepreneurial spirit had taken a small business founded by his father and grown it to be one of the 19th century industrial wonders of the world .
