Description: 1920's Soldiers scrapbook containing many real photo postcards with shocking images depicting grotesque acts of public torture and executions. The public laying out of the headless bodies depicted in the real photo cards may be very disturbing to look at. The desecration of bodies of the condemned and executed was also far from unknown in the Far East. In some cases the heads of people who had been decapitated were stuck on sticks or pikes as a warnings to others. In one image in scrap book, it depicts a man's head that was placed between his legs and left there as a warning. The photographer marked the image "a ghastly joke". The scrap book also contains buildings, nudity, ships and military personal. The owners personal photographs taken during his deployment, photos of officers, unidentified soldiers, some with the last names hand written below the photo.The names are G.A. Adams, Buckley, Marsh, Denton MacDonnald, Yonne, Becker, Gilson and Mcfarland.
