Description: Oil on canvas in the manner/style of Xavier Amiama. +++++++++++++++++ Artist information: Xavier Amiama, from 1910 to 1969, was born in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in 1910, studied art in the Dominican Republic, and died in Haiti in 1969. After numerous one-artist exhibitions in Santo Domingo, Amiama settled in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1936 to teach painting, where, with Petion Savain and a few others, were one of the rare painters in Haiti before opening of the Centre D’art. His work with its dramatic effects of light and movement, was often exhibited with Haitian Art. +++++++++++++ Provenance: Private collection.+++++++++++ Dimensions: 49.50*38 cm.
