THE BLACKSTONE YOGANO VERTICAL SUSPENSION
Description
This was one of several different types of levitation devices Harry Blackstone Jr. used to create the image of human weightlessness. This particular suspension was performed once by Harry Blackstone Jr. at the "Magic Island" nightclub in Newport Beach, CA. The Yogano Vertical Suspension is an unusual suspension in which a woman stands atop a short stool. Two poles are placed under each arm and the stool removed, leaving the woman apparently suspended from the poles. Both poles are then removed, apparently leaving the woman standing in mid-air! The stool is replaced and the suspended woman steps down. A unique and reasonably portable suspension, practical for many applications. This Yogano Suspension has simple construction; black wood table with a flap that opens on top, resting on a large wood base. This lot had 6 pieces including four tubes that help incorporate the illusion. It measures approx. 21 ½" x 41" x 29" and weighs approx. 95 lbs. - Good condition. This lot also includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Gay Blackstone and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment.
