BABYLONIA before 1000 BC. A fine hematite "Daric" weight of standard design, of a reclining duck perfectly carved. L: 21 mm, 8.69 gm. See Kisch, Scales and Weights, p. 95, top left. This piece is from the E. T. Newell collection. He was a major scholar of ancient Greek coins.
