BYZANTIUM, c. 600-650 AD. A hemispheric commercial domed weight of 3.81 grams, perhaps a sextula. There is a black ovitia mark with a slash line in the center. It is unknown why the slash appears. See Bendall, 'Byzantine Weights, An Introduction', p. 7. Rare and apparently unpublished.
