AFGHANISTAN, ca. 19th century, an unusual set of commercial brass weights built upon a loose base, followed by a four or five step pyramids connected with a ring hoop through which one or more brass hoops are inserted. They range from two ounces up to a pound or more. Houben doesn't describe them. They seem to have appeared on the market only recently. Perhaps the markets that used them were involved with the Taliban movement. A set of seven pieces.
