(Born Bordeaux, 1844). David and Bathsheba. Oil on Wood Panel. Matted and Framed, 38" x 29 1/4". Note: Ferry studied under Cabanel and J.L. Brown, working in a porcelain manner reminiscent of the neoclassical painting of Ingres. He exhibited consistently in Paris salons from 1869-1880. He received an honorable mention in 1887, third class medal in 1886, a bronze medal at the Universal Exposition 1889, and the same again in 1900. His work is represented in the Musee de Paris.
