Bror Ljunggren (Swedish, 1884-1939). "Coastal Village", 1930. Medium: oil on board. Signed & dated lower right. Dimensions: 10 1/2" x 15 1/2" Framed:14 1/2" x 19 1/2". Another particularly charming shoreline painting by the Swedish artist of a shore side village on the coast of Skane. This romantic rendering shows the artistic competency of Bjor and his love of the Swedish shoreline.Bror Ljunggren was a Swedish artist who was born in 1884. He studied at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, and with Carl Wilhelmson in Gothenburg and Copenhagen. Ljunggren preferred landscapes from the east coast of Skäne, plains with farms, and urban scenes from Lund. Ljunggren’s works are in the permanent collections of the Malmö Museum, Lund University Art Museum, and Helsingborg and Tomelillas Art Museums.
