A very nice ivory cane of a Scottish young lady

Item Details

Description

A very nice ivory cane of a Scottish young lady. The elephant ivory handle is 3" high and 1 1/2" at its widest. It depicts a pretty young lady with her blouse tied with a ribbon. She is wearing a traditional Scottish Tam-O-Shanter bonnet, complete with a short round tassel. She is carved in very fine detail. The shaft is heavy, dark rosewood with a 7/8" bone ferrule. The overall length is 343" and the condition is very good. It is probably English, ca 1890, and it is a splendid ivory figural example. Estimate: $1200-$1800.
