Description
Provenance: One of several paintings and Art Glass from a prominent New Jersey Estate since retired to Florida’s Gulf Coast.
Piot, Étienne-Adolphe (French 1850-1910): Genre painter of the female face who had few equals possessing the highest level of technical skill. Étienne-Adolphe Piot was arnstudent of Leon Cogniet in the late 1870's who instilled in Piot a love for the human form. In 1880, Piot debuted at the Paris Salon followed three years later with his first showing at the Societaire des Artistes Francais. He received an honorable mention for his exhibit at the Salon in 1890.
