William Hart 1844 Hudson River Painting

Absolutely untouched condition, signed lower left and dated 1844, lower right is the notation Albany, at this time, the artist had just come back from studying in Germany. Apparently, there is no known earlier oil on canvas than this 1844 dated piece. The scene shows a sailboat on the Hudson with a very well executed landscape around the River. The frame is an old Victorian gilt frame if not the original. The dimensions of the artwork are 31 1/2 inches wide by 21 1/2 inches tall, framed dimensions are 37 inches wide by 26 inches tall. The house in the left quadrant is surrounded by well executed trees with a roadway leading down to the residence. Oil on canvas, no damage, rips or tears, when cleaned, this will be a glorious image. Please note there is no reserve on this item.
