Fine Miniature Portrait of George Washington

c. 1800, Miniature Portrait of George Washington, Choice Extremely Fine.
Watercolor on Ivory 2.5” x 2”, framed to an overall size of 4.5” x 4”, in a black wooden frame with scalloped designs; the original period frame with a hanger on the back. Washington is shown in true patriotic form with a blue coat, a red vest and a white collar; his gaze is left of center. This miniature portrait is unsigned but in excellent condition. Minor chips and scrapes sustained to the wooden frame; portrait seems otherwise unharmed. A lovely bit of Washington memorabilia.
