Tibet, The skull cup, known as kapala in Sanskrit. Human skull as bottom with silver bowl on inside. Skull is decorated with 4 sections, each having three stones. Turquoise stone in center with perhaps an orange stone on either side. Ht: 2.5", length is 6.75". Choice condition. The skull cup, known as kapala in Sanskrit, is fashioned from the oval upper section of a human cranium. It serves as a libation vessel for a vast number of Vajrayana deities, mostly wrathful.
