DESCRIPTION: Portrait of a man, possibly Wilmos Csehy, holding a violin. Oil on board. Signed, lower right "E. Csehy". In a gold leaf frame. Wilmos Csehy (1914-1983) was an accomplished violinist who began playing at the age of three. He traveled extensively with his wife Gladys, an accomplished pianist, in musical ministry as the Csehy Musical Messengers. Csehy played a Landolfi violin made in Milan, Italy in 1772 which They later founded the Csehy Summer School of Music which is still in existence. MEASUREMENTS: 10" x 8". Overall with frame 15-1/2" x 13-1/2". CONDITION: 1/4" area of loss upper left corner and with cracquelure throughout.
