This original hand-coloured lithograph arranged and illustrated by H.N. Humphreys, with descriptions by J. O. Westwood, is from British Butterflies and their Transformations, published in London 1841.The print illustrates the following butterfly species, including their caterpillar and chrysalis, and featured plants:1. Viola lutea (the wild yellow heart’s-ease).Henry Noel Humphreys (1810–1879), was a British illustrator, naturalist, entomologist, and numismatist.
