Fima (E. Roeytenberg) (1914-2005) was born on 1914 in Harbin, China to parents who arrived from Russia.
He settled in Shanghai in 1935 and studied Chinese painting and calligraphy. Fima immigrated to Israel in 1949. Several years later he settled in Paris. Last year, at the age of 89, he decided to return to Israel and is living now in Jerusalem. Fima exhibited in Shanghai, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Paris, Helsinki, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Whatever the subject of painting, Fima's main concern always remains painting; the combination of form and color, the touch and the orchestration of colors.
