Oil 80 x 70 x 1.7 cm Late Summer. An expanse of dry grassland beyond the gate on one of my local walks in Durham. On stretched canvas with wooden stretcher frame so it can hang without an additional frame. Sides are painted white. Since studying at St Martins School of Art, London, in the 1980's I have been painting and making prints for decades. Now living in the North of England, my inspiration is in the everyday outdoor spaces where I regularly walk, interested in the atmosphere of a location and the effects of light and weather.
