RARE HUGE ANTIQUE CHINESE DRAGON JEWELED

This piece has so much going on that it's hard to know where to begin. Skillfully handcrafted and unlike any other we've seen. In fact we've never seen anything like this! The materials used are all 'pre-ban' but we don't know the exact time period of construction. Scales are of b one or i vory. Eyelashes and spiney 'mane' or 'plates' along his back and on top of his head and tail and in other places are made of *r hino h orn, pre ban. Jade curls flank his cheeks, golden 'whishers' of metal, probably solid brass and carnelian cabochons along either side of the spine. He is attached beneath his feet to a black plinth with gilt decoration. Measurements: the dragon himself is app. 65 1/2" Long!; 31" tall, about 10" across. The plinth is 55" long, 10 1/2" tall, 16" wide. Overall I see no signs of damage. What a statement this piece will make in your home!
