An Austrian ebonised wood, alabaster and gilt metal mounted grande sonnerie striking mantel clock, circa 1840, the triple train movement striking the quarters on a gong followed by the hours every quarter on a larger gong, the gilt engine-turned dial with small enamel calendar ring to centre within white enamel Arabic numeral chapter ring, the drum-head case with pineapple finial and concave sided star-shaped surround above a mirror-backed colonaded demi-lune portico, on stepped gilt repousse mounted ebonised base, 61cm (24ins) high.
