Details
Modeled as a winged Father Time seated in a boat and holding the clock dial, attended by a winged putto standing at the front of the boat and holding a chain which wraps around the boat and the figures, an anchor at the stern, on rough seas, supported on an ormolu frame and rocky giltwood base with fleur de lis at the corners

Lot Essay
The manufacture de Nast was founded in Paris in 1783 by Jean Népomucène Hermann Nast, an Austrian born French citizen. The firm grew to become one of the prominent hard-paste porcelain factories in the city following sales to the government of the French Directory and the court of Napoleon I. Nast and his sons subsequently opened a factory on the rue du Chemin-Vert in the 11th arrondissement of Paris in 1806. Following Nast's death 1817, the factory continued under the leadership of his sons until it was sold in 1835. Further examples of the present model by Nast were sold at Sotheby's, London, 18 November 2009, lot 486, and Bonhams, London, 14 February 2018, lot 445.
