A double decal M35 'death helmet' pierced by an incoming bullet at the crown, and exhibiting a larger frayed exit hole on the mid-low left side. Original green paint finish is very worn, and well rusted, but still exhibiting a tri-colored shield decal showing at 45% on one side, and the Wehrmacht National Adler decal on the other, showing at only 40%, due to damage from bullet exit wound. Still bearing remnants of the original M35 aluminum headband, although all leather of the liner and chin strap is long gone. Heat stamped on the interior of the left-hand skirt with the maker mark and shell size 'ET66' and batch number '2708' on the interior rear skirt. Overall, in good field ‘dug’ condition, this helmet tells a story.
