Item Details

Description

Mayor of Carpentras in 1911. In 1924, he was Minister for the Colonies. In January 1933, he became Prime Minister, but his government lasted only seven months. In 1936, when LŽon Blum became Prime Minister, he was Minister for War. In April 1938, he was once again Prime Minister. On 29 September, he signed the Munich Agreement with Hitler, Chamberlin and Mussolini. After the war, he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1946 and retired from politics in 1958.Signed printed photograph applied to cardboard in-16, to Paul Langer.
