Description
Commander of the First Army in 1918, he halted the German offensive in front of Montdidier and took part in the final allied offensive with great skill. After the armistice, he was commander of St Cyr from 1919 and was army chief of staff from 1924 to 1930.Autograph letter signed and dated Paris, 10.07.1928, to a General, recommending the infantry second lieutenant: " Ésoldat dans l'‰me; il sera digne de son preÉ".
