Description
At the beginning of his reign, he undertook liberal reforms and improved finances. With the support of Tsar Alexander, he went to war against France. The entry of the French into Berlin contributed to the collapse of Prussia, which was halved at the peace of Tilsit. In 1809 he founded the University of Berlin. At the Treaty of Vienna, Prussia was restored to its former size. In 1834, he created the Zollverein, which is at the origin of the political unity of Germany.Document signed and dated Berlin, 18.02.1829.
