A Chinese turquoise glazed figure of a hare, Qing Dynasty, (18th or 19th century), in crouching position with ears pricked up, the hind paws projecting slightly either side of the rotund body, the underside of which is left open, the fore paws lying straight out in front, covered with a rich turquoise blue glaze with fine hare's fur speckle marking, the eyes almost black, ears repaired, 7" long, Brodie Lodge Collection label No.M142 Footnote: Bought at Sotheby's 16th June 1944 for £19.19s.0d and exhibited at the Oriental Ceramics Society Exhibition, London 1947, No.120
