Description
Japanese temple sword hand forged trationally. Made for a shrine. Aquired after the war. Cutting length is 33.1/2 inches, over all lenght 48 inches. Wonderful wide wavy temper line. Choji Hamon with a groove (Hi). One small forging flaw on the mune. Three small forging cracks not photographable along the edge. Invisable to the untrained eye. Beautiful handtooled silver over copper habaci in a nice shirasaya. Massive sword, wonderful display. Extremely sharp and excellent polish. Many Kanji on both sides of the Tang with Buddist Mangi, see pictures. Possibly made by two different makers. Tang signed profusely. A wonderful example of a shrine sword. Stand is only for display, not included.
Condition
One small forging flaw on the mune. Three small forging cracks not photographable along the edge. Invisable to the untrained eye.
