Emile Gallé, Nancy. 'Batraciens' bowl, for the Paris World Fair, 1889. H. 9.7 cm; D. 18 cm. Yellowish fayence body. Inside and outside brownish glazing on yellowish-green fond. Decorative strip with pond and frogs worked in relief enamel on creamy-white fond. Inside with medaillion with sitting frog and flowers. Marked: Em. Gallé FAYENCERIE DE NANCY (embossed). Foot with chip, vertical hairline.
