十六世纪 铜鎏金金刚铃Dimensions:L 8.8in (22.5cm)金刚铃、杵为密宗修行者的常用法器，而铃、杵通常均以一对为一套，因两者于佛教意义上有其代表性，故不成单件使用。金刚铃象征“非空”和“智慧”，亦有代表“空行佛母”的意味，而金刚杵则象征“非有”和“慈悲”，同时亦有“金刚佛父”的意味，故二者一起使用时则象征智慧和慈悲的结合。金刚铃、金刚杵于古代原为帝释天之武器，象征闪电，亦因其坚固之意而名为“金刚”，后于佛教密宗中，代表着如来金刚之智慧，破除各种无明、愚痴内魔，乃至一切邪论外道，而金刚铃则有警醒无明之意。此件金刚铃施以鎏金处理，柄顶处是由八瓣莲瓣与中央直杆组成的五股杵，其下是配戴宝冠的菩萨面像。鎏金处理的铃上刻有覆瓣莲花。为典型的元代铸造风格。Vajra bells and pestles are commonly used instruments for tantric practitioners. Later, in Buddhist Tantric Buddhism, they represented the wisdom of Tathagata Vajra, breaking all kinds of ignorance, The inner demons of ignorance, and even all evil theories and outsiders, and the Vajra Bell has the meaning of warning against ignorance. This vajra bell is gilded. The top of the handle is a five-pronged pestle composed of eight lotus petals and a central straight rod. Below it is a statue of a Bodhisattva wearing a crown. The gilt bell is engraved with a covered lotus flower. It is a typical Yuan Dynasty casting style.
