Description
A Victorian mahogany-cased two-weight regulator longcase clock. George Kendrick, Droitwich, circa 1860-70. Having a 13.5" (34cm) white painted circular Roman dial, signed G. Kendrick Droitwich, with subsidiary seconds dial, the 30 day twin weight-driven mechanism with imitation mercury filled pendulum, the arched case with carved scroll and shell pediment over glazed panelled door flanked by barley twist columns, the whole upon panelled base, plinth and bun feet,90.5" (229.5cm) high.
Condition
Height 90.5". Dial - recleaned and restored condition, repainted and re-blacked. Some light corrosion to blued steel hands. Movement - please refer to online images. Pendulum has metal sleeves, not glass vials of mercury. Case - tip of shell missing. Filled in cracks to arch cavetto moulding and just below. Slight blistering to moulding above base. Wide vertical crack to raised centre panel of base. Plinth separate. Fellows do not guarantee the working order or accuracy of any clocks sold.
