While Anton Peschka was heavily influenced by Egon Schiele in the beginning of his artistic endeavour, he developed his very own expressive painting style in the 1920s and 30s. The sunflowers are ttransitional pieces. The beautiful work depicts Schieles influence as well as the artists‘ experimentation with his own formal language. Today Peschkas work is highly esteemed amongst art connoisseurs and are inter alia exhibited in institutions such as the Albertina and the Wien Museum.
