Super Bowl IV - January 11, 1970. This is a great commemorative record that was put out following SUPER BOWL IV - which was played at New Orleans in Tulane Stadium. Super Bowl IV featured the fabulous Minnesota Vikings and their Purple People Eaters and the Kansas City Chiefs from the new AFC league - which many people thought were inferior. But, on that day when Super Bowl IV was played, the Chiefs were superior and they derailed he Mighty Viking Express. The final score was: Kansas City Chiefs 23 and the Minnesota Vikings 7. Following that historic day in Kansas City Football history, this commemorative record was made. This is a great piece of memorabilia for the Kansas City Chiefs. The name of the record is: THE DAY THE CHIEFS BECAME THE SUPER CHIEFS - and it goes on to say, VIKING EXPRESS DERAILED AT NEW ORLEANS. The cover of this record is sensational with great photos of that historic Super Bowl. The front of the record says, STARRING - LAMAR HUNT - TRAIN MASTER, HANK STRAM - CONDUCTOR - LEN DAWSON - ENGINEER. AND ALL OF THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS. This record was recorded from live broadcasts of the game and COLOR AND PLAY BY PLAY COMMENTARY BY: FRANK GLIEVER, VERNE LINQUIST, TERRY STEMBRIDGE. There are also Super Bowl quotes from LEN DAWSON, HANK STRAM, JOE KAPP, JERRY MAYS, JOHNNY ROBINSON, BUD GRANTK FRANK PITTS.
The record cover has a piece of the front cover that is torn, probably where a price sticker was once placed. The cover shows some wear. The record is in good shape. A very wonderful piece of memorabilia that is not always easy to find. These records are becoming harder and harder to find. Condition reportThere is a small section of paper that is missing on the upper right corne from where someone placed a price sticker. Also, the record cover show quite a bit of wear.
