This is a unique item as it is a COACH'S AND KEY STAFF MEMBERS GIFT from the 2002 Independence Bowl. COACHES AND STAFF MEMBERS from both teams received this gift at an Independence Bowl Banquet. The two team who played in the 2002 INDEPENDENCE BOWL were the NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS and the OLE MISS REBELS (The University of MISSISSIPPI). This is a LALRGE PLAQUE and at the top of the wooden plaque it says, INDEPENDENCE BOWL 2002 - then it has the Helmet Logo of the Cornhuskers and the Helmet Logo of the Rebels. Below the helmets it says, NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS VS MISSISSIPPI REBELS - SHREVEPORT / BOSSIER CITY, LOUISIANA - DECEMBER 27, 2002 and then it has the official logo of the MAIN STAY INDEPENDENCE BOWL. The PLAYERS also received this plaque - but it was a smaller plaque that measured 5 inches by 7 inches. The COACHES AND STAFF MEMBERS PLAQUE was larger and it measured 9 inches by 12 inches. This plaque is considered a COACHES AND STAFF MEMBERS BOWL GIFT and thus, they were not sold as a souvenir item and they were not sold at the Bowl game. Because it is a COACHES amd STAFF MEMBERS BOWL GIFT - that makes this item a unique and a great collectible.
