Automobilia, three-time Land Speed Record Holder Captain George E.T.Eyston and his rival John Cobb,
signed photographs of Eyston atop his record-breaking car Thunderbolt, a 73-litre twin Rolls-engined monster which achieved the land speed record in 1937 at 312mph and 1938 at 345mph, breaking Donald Campbell's Bluebird record of 301mph set in 1935. Another signed photo of John Cobb of Surrey in his Railton, a 23-litre Napier Lion-engined streamliner, who broke it again weeks later at 350mph, broken again by Eyston the next morning at 357. A year later Cobb returned at 369mph, and higher again in 1947 at 394mph. This record stood for 16 years until finally Campbell achieved 403mph in Bluebird in 1963.
