Lot of 998 Civil War-era Cover Fronts, circa 1860s, in original album that appears to have been assembled just after the Civil War. There are over 900 Union Civil War covers, including approximately 45 anti-Confederate covers. Also included are numerous patriotic and political covers featuring beautiful American flags; images of George Washington, Major Generals and Generals; Naval designs; a variety of Miss Liberty covers; great eagle varieties; rare battle scenes, lots of multi-colored covers; etc. There are many scarce and not seen before cover fronts. A rare, fantastic, must-see assembled album for reference. Album measures approximately 11" x 14.5". Mounting bleed-through spots, otherwise very good condition.
