Description
Guerrero / Mezcala, Mexico, Ca 500 to 100 BCE. An exceptional and very important set of four stone monkeys, carved from various hardstones. First is a large example carved of green and white stone shown in jumping pose. Next is mottled green/black stone with very long tail, shown seated. Final two are smaller versions one in mottled green stone the other in jet black, each shown squatting. Largest measures 2-7/8" H and 2-1/4" L. Smallest is 1-1/8" H. All come with custom stand.
