Fr. Jack P. Hanlon (1913- 1968) A procession of clerics, in top hats Watercolour , 26 x 31 (10.25 x 12.25") Signed A group of ten clerics, all wearing black top hats and carrying soutanes, walk purposefully past the railings of what may be a tenement building. They are watched by two urchins sitting on the steps of the building. Fr. Hanlon has drawn a contrast between the severity and haste of the men and the awe and obvious poverty of the children. This is once again an Irish, probably Dublin, scene and may possibly be "Sunday morning (students of Holy Cross College proceeding the Pro-Cathedral)", which was included in Fr. Hanlon's first solo exhibition at the Victor Waddington Galleries in Dublin in October 1941
