Framed 5 1/4" x 3 1/2" eight page letter with original envelope addressed to Madame Bruen. Letter is signed "Affectionately Yours Elizabeth Barrett Browning" and envelope is signed "El. B. Browning. No female poet was held in higher esteem among cultured readers in both the U.S. and England than Elizabeth Barrett Browning during the 19th Century. Her 1844 "Poems" inspired Robert Browning to write her and so began the most famous courtships in literature. They were wed in 1846. A great authentic letter. 3" oval engraving of Mrs. Browning also included.
