John Knowles Hare (New York, New York, 1884-1947) 12" x 10" watercolor titled "Cape Cod". Signed "John Hare" lower right. Titled in pencil on back of frame paper "?-Cape Cod & dated 1941". John Hare was born in Montclair, New Jersey. He was a member of the Society of Illustrators in New York. He did covers for Ladies Home Journal. Lebatta, Harpers Weekly, etc. He also designed ads for Gossard Corsets, Palmolive, Elgin, Santa Coke, Campbell Kids, etc. He is listed in Who's Who, Davenports, etc. Fine condition.
