Painting is in good condition and is framed with a golden plated wooden frame, size: 32.6x27.1" (83x69cm).
Bella Czobel (1883-1976) was born in Hungary in 1883. In 1902-3 He studied art at Herterich and Diez, two masters at the Munich Academy in Germany, and later in Paris at the Julian Academy. In Paris he met the painters of the Fauves group, and took over their compositions and dominant colors. When he returned to Hungary he founded a new movement called "Neos" (Eight) which led the Hungarian Fauvism.
His work is colorful, expressive and decorative combining Fauvist elements along with naturalistic ones. He died in 1976 in Hungary.
