Tuvia Beeri was born in 1929 in Topolcany, Czechoslovakia.
In 1948 he immigrated to Israel. During the years 1961-63 he stayed in Paris and studied lithography at the ecole des beaux-arts. He is considered one of the leading printmakers in Israel. His favorite printing technique is aquatint. Beeri has a meticulous care for detail while creating and destructing, exploding and merging luminous compositions of geometrical shapes in a personal language of form and color. Beeri had exhibitions in the US, Canada, South America, Australia, Germany, France and Israel.

Flag is a beautiful example to Beeri's virtuoso skills in the etching technique. The abstract and dramatic scenery has a waving flag in its center that is about to be torn from its pole. A stormy happening takes place with fierce wind, dense fog and menacing smoke.
