Paul Jones (fl.1856-1879), 'A New Trick', oil on canvas, signed and dated 1859, 8" x 10" and the companion 'Terriers in a barn interior', - a pair (2) Paul Jones specialised in equestrian and dog paintings. Often painting small pairs of oils, Jones liked to give his animals an almost human expression, drawing his inspiration from Sir Edwin Landseer.
