Attributed to Arthur Devis (circa 1711-1787), 'William Henry, Fourth Marquis of Lothian standing beside a cannon with encampment beyond', full length, oil on canvas, 18" x 12" and the companion, 'Lord Robert Kerr, brother of Fourth Marquis of Lothian', - a pair (2) William Henry Kerr, Fourth Marquis of Lothian, (1710-1775) and his brother Lord Robert Kerr, were serving officers at the Battle of Culloden Moor in 1746. Lord Robert a captain of Grenadiers was one of 18 officers killed in action.
