Walter Williams (1835-1906) 'Beached fishing boats with a village beyond' oil on canvas, signed with initials, 6" x 8" also two other oils by the same hand (3) Walter Williams was one of four sons of the artist George Augustus Williams. He specialised in Welsh landscapes, his best work compares favourably to fellow family members Sidney Richard Percy and Edwin Boddington. His work 'The Valley of the Mawddach' exhibited at the national institution was described by the Art Journal of 1854 as being 'painted with fine feeling, especially in atmospheric effect'
