David Farquharson ARA ARSA RSW (1840-1907), 'A Dutch canal scene with figures loading a hay barge', oil on canvas, signed, 12" x 20" Farquharson was born in Blairgowrie, Perthshire but moved to Edinburgh as a young man. He exhibited at The Royal Scottish Academy and the RA from 1877 to 1904. A self taught artist, he was particularly fond of Highland landscapes, though also produced views in England and Holland.
