WILLIAM AIKEN WALKER (AMERICAN, 1838-1921) SOUTHERN GENRE PAINTING, oil on academy board, depicting an elderly African-American man and woman in a field picking cotton, she is carrying a basket of cotton on her head, cabin in the background, oil on academy board, signed "WA Walker" lower left. Board verso with New York supply store partial label and pencil inscriptions including "Field" and prices. Period gilt and gesso frame. Fourth quarter 19th century. 9" x 12" sight.
