Description

Sioux Chief Big Foot Moccasin that he wore when he was killed by the 7th Cavalry at the Battle of Wounded Knee, December 29, 1890. Excellent bead work designs of crosses, sinew sewn on buffalo hide with 1890 7th Cavalry Troopers ink identification on the sole of the moccasin, "Worn by Big Foot when killed at the Battle of Wounded Knee, South Dakota, December 29, 1890." This is the only such time in American history when Congressional Medals of Honor were recinded. A historically important item taken from Chief Big Foot after he was killed. 11-1/2" long
