An impressive continental lime wood carving;

the center modeled as a basket overflowing with fruit and flowers, a dragonfly resting on a flower; flanked by a duck on one side and a bull on the other resting in pseudo-shell forms; the scrolled acanthus base issuing an eagle's head on one side a dog' head on the other; both terminating in vine-covered cornucopia. Signed in the verso, "F.R.H 1859," and "F. Hermus 1859." Losses. 27.5"H x 53"W, Circa - 1859.
