Vera-Ellen Gown - The Belle of New York 1952

Beautiful black velvet strapless gown, worn by Vera-Ellen in the 1952 film The Belle of New York. Created by famed costume designers Helen Rose and Gile Steele, this sexy strapless number features jeweled sequin along the neckline and yellow and black lace trim along the skirt slit in the front. In fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: Full of notable songs, this 1952 MGM picture stars legend Fred Astaire as an 1890's playboy who falls for a Salvation Army girl. Other cast members include Vera-Ellen, Marjorie Main, Keenan Wynn and others.
